As a federal prosecutor, Mr. Durant tried numerous criminal jury trials and rapidly rose through the ranks, receiving promotions, distinguished service awards and commendations, and serving in several supervisory positions, including Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.

 

As an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Durant was the chief prosecutor in the nationally publicized "Move" cases and played an important role in the "Abscam" prosecutions of federal and local elected officials charged with bribery and corruption in a highly significant F.B.I. undercover sting operation.  He prosecuted a number of other major, highly publicized cases, as well.

 

In private practice, Mr. Durant has continued to try high profile cases.  He has tried more than a dozen federal jury trials exceeding one month in duration, both civil and criminal, including R.I.C.O., securities and antitrust cases, as well as class actions. He also has tried dozens of highly varied cases and has been particularly active in a wide variety of securities cases, both civil and criminal.

 

Mr. Durant has long been an active lecturer and teacher.  He is a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has taught trial advocacy at local law schools.  As an Assistant United States Attorney, he was an instructor in Prosecution Trial Advocacy at the United States Attorney General's Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C.  In addition, Mr. Durant has authored law review articles and served as an Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal.

 

Mr. Durant admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York and many federal trial and appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
